Hi,
I just signed up and this is my first post. My girlfriend has a 2007 LR3 4.4L SE with 105,000 miles on it. We have a couple issues we can't figure out how to fix.
1) We want to totally turn off the TMPS system. This means we want to have no part of it functioning. We've already taken out the four sensors on the wheels (there didn't seem to be one in the spare, which will soon be swapped for a regular full size wheel anyway). We want to turn off the four transmitters in the wheel wells, and we want to turn off the TPMS module in the roof. We want no power going to any of those components, and mainly we want the damn light to turn off permanently.
We took it to a Rover specialist near us. They are well known and seem to be very competent. We asked them to edit the CCF file to delete the whole TPMS system. They did it, and nicely didn't even charge us. When we asked what they did with their computer (which I think was an Autel, but I can't be sure) the guy said "I just zeroed out everything." The Light of Doom was finally out! But after 20 minutes on the highway heading home it came on again, both the on solid for a while light, and the occasional blinking light, alternating.
I realize that they probably don't do this mod all the time so it's understandable that it didn't work the first time. But does anyone here know exactly how to completely delete the TPMS with a computer so I can go back, give the garage the instructions on exactly how to do it, and finally be rid of this TPMS abomination?
2) This year she also had a local (different) LR guy remove the problematic air bags, which were randomly inflating and deflating when stopped at lights like an LA low rider in a Dr. Dre video. She had (I think) springs and a big lift kit put in, which was a huge improvement. But now the display frequently shows an error that says "Suspension Error - Max speed 30 Mph." Does anyone know how to remove this error permanently with the computer? I figure since the guy's going to be in there for the TPMS he may as well fix this error also if possible.
Thanks in advance.
