One question.....I have had my LR3 for a few months now. Is there a comprehensive list of voice commands posted anywhere? Thanks for your help.

Your manual? You can start by saying "voice help", or by asking for help in a category: "notepad help", "radio help", "CD help", "navigation help", "phone help", etc.

More details about specific system functions are in their respective manuals... the Audio System guide, the Navigation/Telephone guide, etc.

Well I know the manual...but from what I remember the manual isn't exactly the best read. I just thought someone might have a list put together....thanks though...I will browse the manual again. :)

The voice commands are pretty well documented. One missing item from the documentation, if I remember correctly, is that you can use the Navigation screen to add a voice/number tag for the factory fit phone (PTI) system... the "Add Voice" button in the UI... instead of doing it 100% by voice.

I originally thought that the voice rec. system worked well, but that was based on the demo during my test drive. I've sinced realized that it's not very usable by an average user. You need to learn the nuances of the system to get it to understand you properly (speak at the right volume, into the correct location, don't have your kids yelling at the same time, etc.)

As far as I'm concerned, it's not a useful system, but it is a step in the right direction. In the next gen, I'd expect some significant improvements.

I don't think it's reasonable to expect the system to work while there is a significant amount of ambient noise (i.e., kids yelling, windows down on the freeway). That said, I think the system works just fine. If it doesn't understand you, trying messing with the settings. Try adjusting it to listen for the American female voice and let your wife/girlfriend/sister try it out. That would at least isolate the problem of being with the sytem or your voice. Maybe you voice is just in between those two octaves where the system cannot distinguish it. ...it may even work better for you in the American female mode. ??
