juddering at 70 mph

My 2001 series 2 disco has started juddering at 70mph she has just had a shed load of work done including new oil cooler, new fuel cooler and various other bits and has been running fab. Took her down the motorway today and she started juddering as she hit 70mph


Anyone any ideas has loosing the will with my girl :(

Normally juddering at a specific speed will be tire balance or wear. Just to be sure take it by a trusted tire shop and have them check things, but I would bet your tires are out of balance due to wear or you lost a weight.

We think its the turbo on its way out :(

Turbo.... Sorry didn't realize you were across the pond and had a non-petrol model.

If it were the turbo I would think it would start well below 70. But maybe.

Another possibility is a u-joint seizing up. They will often cause a judder before they fail enough to be loose, so the only way to rule it out for sure is to remove the propshafts and and move each u-joint to make sure it's not binding.
