Engine swap

I bought an 02 discovery with a 4.0 for my daughter. Before she got got her license and was able to drive it, about a month after purchasing it, it burnt a hole through the block. I'm thinking of replacing the inferior motor and tranny with a 350 engine and tranny. Does anyone have information that could help me?

No experience on the LR but the LSx aluminum engines have been stuffed into everything from Miata's to Volvo's. The 4.0 V8 was originally a GM engine from the '80's so there should be room. The issues are going to be around all the other interfaces from transmission to electronics.

This is probably going to be a lot like eating an elephant . . . .
