When my brother was coming back from California my Land Rover Discovery just would start revving up. When he stopped to the side he put it back in drive and it was rev up and not catch any gears. When he looked under he saw transmission fluid leaking. Now, when we tried repairing it, we thought it was the torque converter, so I bought a new one. We put it on, change the seals, and just about everything you can think of. I take it to pep boys to get a oil change, and when I leave everything is great truck is running fine. I get home, park it for about 2 hours, and when I leave the transmission fluid starts dripping out badly and it doesn't catch the gears again. What is the problem!?!?!?!

thanks very much! :hello:

Where is it leaking: transmission cooler, hoses, drain plug?

Sorry for the lack of info!

To Maddie: Umm there's that little metal patch that is held on by 3 bolts, not the bolt that needs an allen wrench to open up. But yea, the little metal patch is where it's leaking from.

EDIT: and when you open up the metal you can see the torque converter.

Ouch! Front seal to trans leaking thru to bell housing I'd guess. Sounds like it's time for a new seal and more. This can't be good .

Welp, looks like it's time to buy a new transmission!

Anyone know where to buy a good transmission? Besides the dealership @_@ I don't feel like paying an arm and both legs!

Btw, here's a pic of my rover!

Great looking machine!

Have you looked at Atlantic British or Pacific Brit for a new tranny?
