Does anyone have experience with putting a Baja Rack on an LR4 (2011) and whether any modification or drilling is necessary. Also, do you like the Baja Rack? Any info would be appreciated....

The only issue I had was the front mounts.
If water has gotten into the holes there will be rust present. This causes significant issue when attaching the mounts. The hardware they provide is barely adequate, so I went over to my local Marine Supply store and bought all new Stainless Steel hardware.

I would tap the hole first and clear out any debris. This will eliminate about 3 extra hours worth of work. I broke 1 of the bolts (front mount), and had to drill it out. Not a fun job to do.

Also when you install it leave everything loose so you can make adjustments after you get is it all bolted up.

I love the rack and have used it for many adventures.
I like the built in fuel can holders, most other companies charge significantly for that feature.
Here are a few loaded up and in adventure mode

I love the Baja Rack and I have had 2 other types of racks on my LR4s. Also, since I have the black design package from the factory I had the full-length black roof rails. Baja did tell me I could not install without removing the racks, but I did it quite easily by just removing the front foots to the rack and pulled them out, no problem at all!

My Baja Rack works great. I use the Mega Mule and attached it to a pair of Yakima cross bars. That way I can run it on my LR4 or RRC as the need arises. When not in use it lives suspended from the garage ceiling.

Regards,

David

How quickly/easily does it attach/detach?

The rack uses hand knobs to secure the four brackets to the crossbars. No tools required. I can install it in about 15 minutes. About the same to remove.

Regards,

David
