Where'd Your Landy Take You This Mem'l Day Wkend?

I spent Saturday flyfishing for rainbow trout on the Casselman River in Western Maryland. Our put-in spot was on private property but the owner makes accommodations for courteous flyrodders (see sign). The stream runs adjacent to a working Amish farm, so all day long we waved at passing horse-drawn wagons and buggies. The setting and weather were literally picture perfect. Yes, we did catch some trout but I didn't want to stress them by keeping them in hand while struggling for my iPhone.

Flyfishing is definitely one of those Things That Go Well With Landy.

PS: In the shot of the roadway, at the very end of the visible road you can see the left-hand railing of the bridge over the Casselman. That is the north side of the bridge and about 200 yds up in that direction is the PA state line.

David, I always have to grin and nod approvingly when I see your excellent rig out in the wild where it was meant to be. Great pics.

The new BFG KO2s exceeded my expectations, wow, what a tremendous increase in on road and off road performance compared with the previous generation. I was very impressed on gravel, sharp rocks, and mud.

Love your pictures and fly fishing is amazing out there - used to live on an Amish farm in Kinzers, PA.

I'm almost embarrassed to show these when I look at all the ********* stuff many of the rest of you are doing. But here goes...
- I went with LR protection tubes. They came to me at 1/3rd the normal cost and free installation. A new owner had them installed and within just a couple of days decided she didn't like them and wanted steps instead. (She thought there would be a "step" she could use.) So my service guy called me up and made me an offer. They also swapped out the lower plastic parts that had to be cut on her new LR4 so those are brand new as well. I know these aren't rock sliders. But they'll give me a bit more protection, more jack points and they are not obvious nor obtrusive.

- I also installed Rigid Dually floods on the front of my Yakima rack but in an inverted position so I hide them behind the wind fairing when I am not using them. I just tilt the fairing down when I do need them. I use the 12v lighter plug cord that Rigid also sells. I ran the wire along and through the Yakima rack to the back. When I need them I drop the cord down through the rear hatch and plug them in.

Again, not exactly strong moves here not anywhere near what some of you are doing. But it is more than I had. And a bit more minimalist.

My LR4 was in the shop for two weeks getting a facelift. I found a local indy shop that works on land rovers exclusively. They installed a custom Rack with a 52 in led light bar in front and a 20 inch led light bar in the rear. They painted grill, air intake, handles, roof rack, ladder and wheels santorini black. They installed Duratrac tires and programed a 1.5in lift front and rear. The switches are from mopar and came out looking factory. I am very pleased with the upgrades. Check out before and after pics.
