Hi,

I was hoping someone might have some advice or came across this issue!

3.9V8 1994 Disco

Auto Trans started to not want to change gear until it had warmed up driven slowly for a while ( 5 mins).. Then it would seem ok.

Out for a soft drive and it started to shudder a little, then no gears seemed to be working, as if it would not engage. I checked the fluid - it was empty! I had just had a trans flush ( 400 km earlier) , The filter was not replaced.

I topped it up and it seemed to work ok for a few minutes then popped out of gear again - would not pick up any of the gears.. Since then I have had a tow home.

Left the truck for a few weeks while I decided the next move. I tried it yesterday and it seemed to work fine forwards and backwards in the driveway, until it stopped picking up reverse ... Not sure what to do from here, I shall be taking it to a specialist soon, however I though I would see what the wider community had to say..

Many thanks for any questions or replies

Jim

if you sadly ran it dry of fluid, it may require a rebuild.
