I have a 2010 LR4 and it came with the KBN500080.

The LR4 2011 in the showroom has a LRO19990

Why the difference?
The LRO seems to have a shorter distance from where it attaches to the bumper to where the ball-arm inserts, but thats all I can see. A little smaller. Why the change?

I then see that that there are different ball-hitch kits for the 2 different hitches, and the vendors claim that they are not interchangeable????

"Trailer Hitch Kit: This works with the Tow Hitch Receiver (LR019990) Please be sure you have that receiver installed, if you have the KNB500080 this items will not works."

A 2 inch receiver is a 2 inch receiver, is it not?

I don't get it...any hitch should fit into the LR3 receiver? This one does come in a nice padded case but is a tad pricey for a basic readily available item.

Yeah, WOW that's expensive. I use my $20 one that I had on every car for the past 20 years...no fancy case though and I need a wrench to change different sized balls.
And OMG the factory receiver is $500? Got mine used for $200.

So.... was the consensus that with the LR019990 - you should be able to use either tow hitch (VPLAY or VUB)?
