A fellow laner had mentioned to me that he had seen Vinyl wrapped wings on a few laning Land Rovers. Theory is it should protect your paint form the worst of the brambles, especially if you’re driving something a bit newer.

My Landy is going to be part of a display at a festival event soon so when someone suggested they wrap my Defender 110 I thought I’d give it a go so the old girl was looking her best.

Turned out great and I love the look of it. Jury is out as to whether it will protect it or she’ll shed her skin like a ********* snake on the first thorny bush!!

Looks like it came out great. How has it held up so far? Is it as durable as paint? What's the lifespan on it? How much does vinyl wrapping a 110 cost in the UK? Lastly, how long did it take? All done in a single day?

Well months and a load of lanes on I'm amazed at just how durable it is. I've been down some really severe and scratchy bramble and gorse type lanes and its just shrugged them off. Its marked in a few places but the vinyl has never been pierced.

I believe it comes with a 5 year guarantee. Mine was done as a promotional job for the company so I'm not entirely sure but I've heard others say about £900. It took them a full weekend but that included a lot of prep

Anyone who follows my films will have seen I had my 110 vinyl wrapped about a year ago and have just recently removed it.

I've been asked a lot of questions about the process including why I took it off so I put this little piece together as a ‘show & tell’

Nice!

It looks great based on the video. How much would vinyl wrapping a LR cost?

I don't know exactly. The Company did it for me to try and promo what they do. I believe it would be in excess of £1,000 but that was largely due to the maount of after market kit I had installed that they removed to do the job properly.

Price reduced on selling it today but if you check some pictures, the paint work is excellent given what I have done in it. A testament partially to the wrapping.
