For me, most valuable mods are E-rated tires (265/65), then Sliders (I use Tactical), then gas tank skid. Gas tank is the lowest point and very large..I've heard a few stories of people denting them and reducing their range to 150 miles per tank.

I get over things like this by using the sliders...

Been a long time since I posted on my LR4 development. It now has a low profile roof rack, rear ladder, under carriage protection, including the compressor and rock sliders; these items were all from Prospeed in UK. The roof rack has mounts for petrol cans, spare tires and sand ladders. I added a 9500 lb Warn winch with factory install, and a LLAMs height control from Australia. Next will be new 18'' wheels and BFG tires. She's getting pretty serious, but I am still nervous about the ground clearance under the control arms.

Cheers

You probably know but it requires a different driving approach from older solid axle offset differential vehicles where you'd have more clearance near the wheels but much less in the middle near diffs and break-over depths.

Compare clearances along the middle between lr3 + LLAMS temporary lift on 32" tires vs D2 with 35" tires....

I roll up next to lifted Jeeps here all the time and they're on 35-37 but their differential is sometimes lower than where mine can reach. Yet mine is also fantastic to drive 45 hrs cross the USA at maximum hwy speeds.... 36" tire - 18" centerline - 5" for a 10" diff = 13" clear ground clearance at the axle ... I've measured mine under the engine plate at 14".... ;) Even 12" at the rear with the ASFIR diff skid which also covers the exhaust.

it's 20lbs or so being 5/16 steel... direct ASFIR usa Had to custom bend 13 sections to work with the Magnaflow which was super annoying but hasn't made noise against anything yet.

I can verify and send a photo if you need. It's still off from all the suspension work I did. Pretty sure whole rear end could sit on a rock without really damaging it.
