Hi,

Looking a round for a LR3 to buy. Had a question.

I have a couple dogs and want to know if they can make it. ( they are older )

With the LR3 at its lowest ( access height ).

What is the loading height? ( tail Gate down to the ground )
Also what the height of the door entrees from the ground?

Thank you

Unfortunately, my LR3 is currently in the shop for inspection, so I cannot measure accurately for you. But I have 3 dogs and can tell you that my Chihuahua cannot make the jump, even in access height! :)

My 35lb pit/boxer mix could make the jump a few years ago, but he is now 17 and we lift him in and out.

My 150-lb American bulldog can and does make the jump in. We use an Otto Step with an 18" extention for him to get out. When we had a 2004 Disco, they would use the Otto step to get in and out, but the rear tailgate awkward shape seems to scare them from using it to actually jump in the rear of the LR3, so it is now an exit step only.

Catman, Thanks for the ottostep suggestion. I like that ideal.
Quetion: never mind, You answered my question already about extension. I Just needed to reread yoru post.

I have been watching some videos.
The closest i can see is that the tailgate is the height of the tires when lowered.
About 30 in. That pretty high off the ground.

On my 2008 LR3, here are the measurements you are looking for (all are in access mode):
- Ground to inside floor (back door): 17.5"
- Ground to seat back (back door, when seats are folded forward & down to the lowest position): 31"
- Ground to tailgate: 28.5"

You will find further information on measurements here: https://lr3tips.files.wordpress.com/2010/09/10_technicaldata.pdf

For specific repair specs and drawings, this is a helpful site (albeit, a tad hard to navigate): http://workshop-manuals.com/landrover/lr3/general_service_information/

Tailgate is 30 inches and rear door entry floor is 16 inches . Seats fold to same height as tailgate.
