Not sure...how old is you battery? lol

I just took it with the longer list of other indicators that it points to an electrical issue. Hopefully with the battery.

So your folding mirrors didn’t go out? I just had this happen yesterday for first time. I stopped engine, opened and shut door and the went out normally on restart.

Is the mirror failure a warning sign of something?

Not that I know of, but I can say from experience that when the clock changes to military time and the month-day format changes to the European format, it's almost time for a new battery.

Ha! That happened months ago for me. I just chalked it up to being "quirky".

Well, I thin kit is time. My LR4 has a DOM of Augyst 2013 with 29k miles and still on the original battery. I may or may not make a trip to Canada later this month, and t's probably wise to do it with a new battery.

It appears consensus is to go with Interstate. Any model number and best place to source it?

Update:

Dropped the LR4 off this morning and just got an update call from the dealer. Something "went bad" in the battery and they are replacing it under warranty, charging system checked out okay, and the window switch issue is unrelated; needs to be re-calibrated and that is something they would show me how to do if it ever happened in the future. That, and they said I should flush brake fluid and power steering fluid for $259 each. Ha!

On a side note, I saw the "Range Rover" key fob being handled from the loaner car desk before doing the paperwork and asked if it was an Evoque, to which the clerk said "yes" in a somewhat positive manner, like I should be appreciative (really hate those things). I asked if there was anything else, perhaps a Discovery. She said there was but would a full-size discovery be okay and then apologized it was only a diesel, lol. Much better choice than an Evoque or Disco Sport.

I bought my 2012 LR4 used just about 2 years ago. Already in it was an Interstate battery in the standard H7 size. This past weekend while visiting family, the battery gave up the ghost. The battery was dated April 2015, so Interstate gave me a 45% discount on a new one. I would have preferred a "Group 49"-sized battery, but the warranty only provided a discount on the same model.

As luck (or misfortune) would have it, this morning we discovered that the battery in my wife's Volvo had shot craps as well. Her Volvo also takes an H7 battery. So today, I went and bought a Group 49 battery to put in the LR4, and the H7 battery will move from the LR4 to the Volvo.

I'll try not to tell my wife this as she'll think I planned the whole damn thing.

my 2016 LR4 that is 19 months old had both batteries die. This seemed very early IMO. I would expect at least 36 months. LR replaced them for free.

Bumping this thread to confirm that when these batteries go, they go. Got into my MY13 this morning and the ignition button only produced a staccato chunk, chunk, chunk-- not the tired attempt to turn over that I would have expected. Low range light flashed on the dash, analog clock started whirling around-- in both directions. Headlamps came on and would not turn off even when I over-rode them with the switch.

One thing of note, I checked and I have what appears to be its original Varta with JLR branding. If it is the original, that's not a bad lifecycle of 6 years and 56K miles.

It is on the charger now to see if I can get a start out of it, otherwise I'm battery shopping for an Exide or Interstate AGM 49 H8, unless there's an updated consensus on what to get. This is all on my dime so I won't be bound to getting another Varta from the dealer.
