Thanks for that explanation. I honestly didn't know what the clay was for, I thought it was for scratches....Even after a good wash, there is a lot of residue on your clearcoat. This process removes most of that and you can feel the difference. After that you can polish or wax and then go out for a drive and soak up all the admiring glances and compliments.
Good to know, now. I always seem to have some tar spots, bug splatters or tiny caterpillar droppings (i guess) that leave marks which won't come off with soap and water, or detailing spray. I'll try the clay!
