Is it ok to start towing with 100,000 miles on the engine?

I thought I read somewhere though (maybe the handbook) that we are not supposed to use any anti-sway hitch or mechanism, etc. If true, I am guessing its for the LR3/4 anti-sway feature to not get confused. I am not sure if LR3 has that anti-sway correction feature but I am sure that 4 does as I have some LR video about it a while back. But I also remember that the recommendation for not using the anti-sway hitch was for LR3 as well.

I am guessing that this electronic sway correction feature works by sensing the load/compression differences between the rear air springs/suspension, among other things, no?

The vehicle senses the sway and will use the traction control to sort it out, using braking on individual wheels, etc. I never experienced sway towing my big Sea Ray boat and its in the upper range of payload for towing, but it just had the right weight distribution I suppose.

(I am selling my boat though, so the only thing on my hitch now will probably be a bike rack.)

I just rolled over 100k while towing a 30' travel trailer. I tested several configurations but settled on an aftermarket hitch on the LR4 and an Anderson WD system that saved me about 50 lbs off the tongue weight. I used Cat scales to get the weight distributing system configured correctly and it pulls great. (6925 lbs trailer, 680 lbs tongue.) I did plugs, pads and rotors and had the suspension checked by my local shop. My wife and I are leaving for a month long trip from Indianapolis to the west coast next week.
Forgot to mention my LR4 is a 2012 HSE.

33ft TT pulled with my ‘14 LR4. Dont have my weight distribution and antinsway dialed in yet so I took it easy and didnt do faster than 60. Outside of not having tow mirrors it had no issue pulling it!

Thank you everyone for your input. We are looking at the 25 ft flying cloud which is under the max tow capacity. We purchased our LR4 with 6k miles on it. It was a loaner for the dealership. We have faithfully had it serviced at the dealership ($$ ouch). So we know the vehicle has been maintained. I will do some more research on this forum regarding towing setups etc. I appreciate everyone’s input

you guys are cray cray pulling that with the Landy!. 7300 dry is well over 8000 wet. NO WAY you make the payload cut unless you throw out the interior, leave the family home and drive around with no more than two gallons of gas in the car! LOL, you all are killing me towing this stuff. Can it physically do it? Yep, it can. Are you going to get ticketed when you get pulled over? Yes you are.

Tow numbers are for marketing, not for actual towing. Read the small print. Dry weight is for marketing, read the small print. I read that someone was towing a 32 footer with their LR4. What! Come on. Do I have to get up from my seat and run down to the garage and take a pic of our payload sticker. HMMM. may I should have done that before I posted this?
