I also used to get occasionally clunks with the Bosch, but no noise with the Rain-X wipers which I use now.
I don't do the full window treatment, just the blades.

Stupid question here, but is there a reason nobody seems to use the dealer / Land Rover wiper blades or refills?

:help:

Just my 2 cents but this started happening to me when I used 3rd party blades because the driver side was quote at 24" by the 3rd party book but it's really 22". (if I recall correctly) The 24" fits but catches the top edge of the windshield and makes that noise if there's not really water getting up there to smooth the motion.

My local LR dealer sells Valeo wiper blades which work fine. Of course you can buy Valeo blades for less money elsewhere.

Are these LR branded Valeo blades, with an LR part number? Or do they just carry aftermarket Valeo blades?

I haven't yet fought through Microcat to find the LR part numbers...

Seemed like an unnecessary cost for something that 3rd parties are making the same or better (cheaper and easy to install).
Also, I can't recall for certain, but I think (on my LR3 anyway) the OEM blade didn't look as nice as the frameless after-market options. That may be standard now.

The reason I ask is, in the Mercedes world that I'm more familiar with, the vast majority of owners use aftermarket blades that are easily available at FLAPS/McParts, but often don't fit exactly right, and aren't cheap either. Most people don't realize the MB dealer blades fit perfectly, don't cost a fortune, and have OE/dealer refills available at a very affordable price (well under $10) so you don't have to replace the entire blade each time. Just trying to learn what LR options are!

I found the part number in Microcat for LHD (USA) models, should be p/n LR018367, ~$37 USD list price each (ouch). Doesn't appear they are refillable. Also seems from Googling that the OEM is Trico, not Valeo. Anyone tried Trico yet? The OE (and Trico) blades are visibly different than Valeo.

EDIT: Rear wiper blade is DKB500680, $21 dealer list price.

I know this thread is primarily about front wipers but I have used the Valeo rear blade and can say I've never had any complaints with performance or noise. Under $13 on Prime. For something like this, that's enough of a price difference to go non-OEM for me.

The rear blade on my LR4 sucks (to use a technical term). During the center half of the sweep, it does not contact the glass at the outer end of the blade, leaving a smeared section at the top/center of the glass, enough to be annoying. It's the blade that was on the LR4 when we bought it a year ago, I think it is Bosch, but I need to double-check. The rubber is in good shape and where it does contact the glass, it's fine. It's on my list to replace before the rainy season returns this fall.

I'm sure you've tried or at least thought of this, but a little vise-grip action on the metal parts to dial it in, maybe? Or 2-day free delivery from AMZ!
