All Weather or Snow Tires ?

Lazy/quick response on my part. I agree 100% with the above. How was your overall tire life with the WRG? Mine wasn’t great... I just ordered Conti VikingContacts for this winter after many years of Nokian. Love my Hakkas, but trying something different based on some Norwegian tire test that...

All Weather or Snow Tires ?

I ran a set on an E320 wagon, I found them to be excellent in snow, even if not as good as the Hakkas, but while they didn’t wear as quickly as snow tires, mine didn’t have nearly the longevity of all seasons. YMMV, literally. I swap tires/wheels on my cars, but we’re driving all over NE...

    Fuel display/consumption/warning low fuel light

Like most(all?) of us, my computer mpg was optimistic, actual was always lower. Assuming the stated capacity is correct, I got “0 miles to empty with 3.9 gal left, very consistently. Unless I’m in the middle of nowhere, I looked for gas at zero - the range per tank is abysmal as it is, can’t...

    Surround Cameras

Lots of people care about curb rash on expensive wheels. These are mostly for parking - pretty common feature on lots of sedans these days. My neighbors e350 with these cams sure isn’t made for off-roading. That said, I never found the LR4 hard to park because it isn’t that wide, and great...

    LR5 Release Updates?

http://www.automobilemag.com/news/2017-land-rover-discovery-debut-first-look/?wc_mid=4035:3533&wc_rid=4035:2195121&_wcsid=C3D178217890A9C719B31E6DC7785DA415F5EEB51C8A8FB2 Nothing that's not in the brochure above, but has some comparisons to the LR4. Longer, lower, wider, one-piece tailgate...

    roof rack

I recently sold my 2014 LR4, and still have the Yakima mounts that work with the roof rails that I'd be willing to part with, cheap. PM me if your going that route. PM me if you want more info on the Yakima in general. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

2016 LR4 prices paid for lease

Have you tried any of the buying services like truecar? I used Costco auto program when I bought my '14, and everyone was telling me it was MSRP or higher, but I bought off the lot for something like $2500 under, I don't recall exactly. Not sure what they do for leases. Sent from my iPhone...

    2014 LR4 HSE for sale

Hi all, I wound up trading in the car for a what I think (hope?) was a pretty good level. I got a couple of real interests from this board - this forum is a real treasure, and I'll keep lurking here. It's pretty likely I'll wind up in another Rover some day. Thanks.

    2014 LR4 HSE for sale

Hi all, Due to life changes, I am selling my much-loved 2014 LR4, bought new in May of 2014. It's the SCV6 obviously, HSE with Meridian audio(satellite and HD radio), Climate Comfort package (heated front and rear seats), and black lacquer interior trim. It does not have the heavy duty...

    LR4 with 3 kids?

Agree with the roof box. My "kids" are 18, 16, and 13, with the 18 year-old heading off to college soon, so it'll be a bit easier for me henceforth. We also have a 100 lb. dog. We drive 4-5 hrs each way more or less every weekend to ski. We keep the middle seat of the middle row down, and...

simple cross bars, no factory rails

I have the Yakima set up with bike carriers and a roof box. I posted a couple of pix last year. Works great.

different tire pressures front vs rear tires?

Yes, but given that I have two more worn tires, without really knowing the original locations, the question is, where do I rotate them now? Usually, I'd know, but when I had snows put on and off, it was all done by the tire shop, so I didn't really pay attention, though obviously I should have.

different tire pressures front vs rear tires?

That's been my experience with my other cars, though they've mostly been front wheel drive, so it's more pronounced. With people talking about rear brakes going more quickly, and really depending on the balance of the LR4, I thought rear might be worse. I'll leave them as-is for the time being...

different tire pressures front vs rear tires?

Somewhat tangentially Which tires typically wear faster on the LR4, front or rear? Assuming no cargo load for simplicity's sake. I haven't kept track well enough, but I put my slightly more worn tires on front this spring when I took off the snows. When I took my LR4 in for its first...

    Fuel Burning Heater?

What for? I have one in an old Beetle, but only because it's almost impossible to get those cars warm in winter. The LR4 is more than adequate, no? I haven't noticed any issue down to -25F.
