Sounds like you have a bad serpentine belt.....overheating, loss of charge, power steering failure...all components driven by the belt. -

Dealer repair for stop start, put 50 miles on my rig. Sound right?
I'm sure it wasn't used to take the techs to lunch, pick up a pizza or two, run to the bank....you know "technical" road testing...your fuel is free after all. -

How to convince my sister to buy an LR4 instead of a Honda Odyssey?

Black spots on wheels (oxidation?)
The wheels are typically painted with an enamel paint or powder coated. they do have a clear coating that you are scrubbing into and destroying. the black spots are typically sintered metal shavings from the brakes (brake dust) and can be removed safely with a clay bar followed by a good wheel... -

Cooper Zeon LTZ Off-Road tires on Stock 19" Wheels
Rybone, IMHO a good place to start should be tire rack where you can plug your vehicle in and see the sizes (stock, plus 0, plus 1, minus 1) that will fit without issues. If you're looking for a larger sidewall and narrower tire (better for snow) then you may need to drop rim size to 19" though... -

How can you tell if an LR4 has the Vision Assist Package?
set up a TOPIX account and run the VIN and it will give you all the options (it takes a little decoding to understand them bu thtye should show up).
