Excellent post! I think I have the same issue. Any tips on accessing the speaker. Does the panel need to be removed or can it be reached from an access panel? Thanks

Hi you need to remove the rear (driver side) panel, unscrew the bolt for driver safety belt and the upper one and carefully with pry tools pull the plastic panel. Good luck

I completed the task of replacing the speaker. Wasn't difficult at all. May have taken about 30-45 minutes of me slowly taking my time. You'll need to remove the screw holding the drivers side rear passenger seat belt. There's also a screw behind a cap that needs to be removed from the side panel near the door jam. After that you can pry the panel out a bit. It doesn't need to come all the way out. Just enough for you to access the speaker (which is under the window behind the rear seat. If anyone has questions, PM me I'd be happy to help.

I got the same code on my Icarsoft scanner. Just removed the speaker and wouldn't have known how to without this forum. Thanks guys. Now just have to order the speaker. I'll report in later to let you know if I fixed my parking sensor problem. And yes I checked all my sensors to see if they worked and they all clicked.

Actually, the speaker can be purchased cheaply from the dealer. First time I've ever purchased something from the dealer that was cheaper than online! (Dealer gave me a 15% military discount)

I found it for $29 on eBay. Not too bad I guess.

I paid $26 at the dealer and felt like that was the singular time that I ever walked away from a dealership not feeling like a victim.

You can also buy this Ford branded part for under $15 dollars and simply swap the speaker (link below). It's the same speaker number and size as the original. The bottom of the Ford part has a bracket so just open your old speaker casing and swap the speaker. It works like a Charm and will save you almost 50 bucks over the part branded as Land Rover. The original part was sourced via Ford anyway and was compatible with the Transit, Mondeo as well as Jaguar and Aston Martin. Ridiculously overpriced just for the box and LR006482 part number label.

For replacement, just remove the seat belt torx bolt (T-50) and the one retainer screw (just above the seat belt screw). Then pull away the top part of the panel held in by fixed clips. Pull straight out and you should not damage the plastic clips. This reveals two additional screws on a plastic guard plate that need to be removed. You can remove the parking speaker without taking off the rear seal and lift gate wire. Takes about 30 minutes to do the job. Torque the seat belt screw to 30lbs. Cheers.

Cheers!
