Hey All,

Any chance any of you have seen a Front Runner Slim roof rack attached to the LR4 via the OEM Rails (Long)?

I love the rack, however because this is also a daily driver I can't afford to have the rack on full time (Height Restrictions). Really don't want to go for a cheap Yamaha or Thule basket.

Thanks,

I have the FrontRunner on my LR4. Awesoem rack and cool accessories:) I do not see a way you could put this on the factory rails.

@jeffdude Are you on stock wheels and tires? If so, do you know what the height is from the ground to the top of the rack minus the extended rails you have? Having to try and figure out if this will work with our need to park in garaged pretty regularly.

I will measure when I get home. Are you asking for the distance to the top of the rails (minus shovel and axe)?

Mine is a Lux with 19" wheels

Thanks Jeff, can you measure the distance above the shark fin?

I love the look of the rack, but mounting to the OEM Rails would be a huge plus for. Especially because I already have them, if I take them off I will need to replace the strip that they cut to install. Additionally the Frontrunner will really only be used for extra curricular activities, I also tend to transport a lot of other things up there, kayak, canoes, bikes etc. Granted I can always mount to the FR, just more stuff I need to purchase.

Jerbo - 80.25" If you have the short rails you would not have to get new rail covers.
Tim - 77.75"

both measurements while the LR4 was at "normal" ride height.
