The LR4 is amazing with sand mode, but don't be fooled. I have been stuck a few times. Airing down gives you a significantly bigger footprint! Not really a big deal if you have a means of recovery (other trucks with ****** straps, or MAXTRAX, etc). Just be careful if you are ever out the solo!

Where did you get stuck in? I was waiting for the LR to feel like the traction was failing but never did. Was the times you got stuck looked like at first you're driving along in sand comfortable and the next moment you're asking yourself why am I stuck?

Medano Pass is a fun trail. Sand, but not deep, sand dune type sand. I love driving in that type of sand as it seems "quiet". And, yes, should not be an issue for the LR4. Airing down may help. But in some of the deeper sand locations on the route they put down rubber mats. They really don't want to have to dig someone out.

And that whole park is pretty cool. We were driving through the San Luis valley on Saturday and could see the dunes in the distance.

Hello Everyone,

It's been a while since I posted pictures of my LR4, so I wanted to provide a few for those of you who may not have seen them on my Instagram (finlayforprez). Last week I finally found some trails in MA and took a few photos (videos posted next). Next stop will be a few places in New Hampshire. Looking forward to reconnecting on here; I miss the discussions! Take care, David.

Couple of action videos from the weekend at Gold Mountain, a popular off-road trail in Big Bear (SoCal). We had our club's annual get-together (Rover Rendezvous) and had a fantastic time under picture perfect weather... But Gold Mountain was in horrible shape, broken up and real tough compared to the way I remember it a few years back. It took us all day to finish it in one piece - which we did, eventually.

Mmm... Media not visible. Will fix and repost, sorry everyone (videos aren't mine.)
