Might be an illusion but it looks like there is a lot of overhang behind the rear wheels. Looks like it has plumped up in dimensions. I love the size of the LR4, one reason we bought it. Fits in our city house sized garage and works well on the small streets yet has plenty of interior room.

I do agree, there looks to be a hell of lot more overhang behind the rear wheels. That will certainly be a hindrance for some off-road situations. That said, I think this new LR5 has moved far too upscale in both price and street configuration for me to ever consider purchasing it for off-road use. I genuinely think the upcoming Defender will be the truck we are looking for.

Looks like the interior has been spied in China.

I wasn't expecting a revolution, so I like the interior. The center console looks quite high though, compared to the current model. It almost looks like the Sport's interior, where you feel more cocooned, or more cramped, depending on your point of view... I do like the more pronounced side bolsters on the seats, they should be more supportive on twisty road driving.

The link to the Motortrend article I provided before said just this. Disco is slotting up into the RR slot. The Defender will eventually slot into the hole left by the Disco.

What happened to the arm rests? That is one of my favorite creature comforts of our LR4. Looks like my next purchase might be a Raptor. :(

Agee 100% with the miss on the arm rests.

It also looks a bit cramped and not as commanding of a driving position.

Coming from '11 & '13 Lux (sold) I just purchased a low mileage '08 LR3 HSE 2 weeks ago. I will miss the current body style very much.

Looking forward to the Defender that's for sure.

Isn't this it? It's raised up, but I am pretty sure that's the good 'ole arm rest. I think I can even make out a bit of the knob at the top, to adjust its height.
