I bought a 2004 HSE with 77K miles on it. It has a few issues. I was told by the previous owner that the catalytic converters will need to be replaced, although it seems to run fine. Next the tilt function on the steering wheel does not work. You can her the motor trying to tilt the wheel but it does not move up or down. Next the key Fob does not unlock the rear right passenger door. Are any of these things going to be a big deal. I am pretty mechanically inclined. Any advice on where to start looking for parts and repair advice?. Any other things I should take a look at before I take it on a long road trip?

On a 2004 with 77k miles the only reason the cats would need replaces is if someone hit them hard while driving or ran leaded gas in the tank. Tilt steering will require more knowledge than I have (I have never taken one apart) Key fog for door will be a door lock issue, does it unlock any other way other than pulling up manually? If it will not unlock, then the lock itself is bad and needs replaced. Not that hard just time consuming.

It has a check engine light on and the previous owner said he took it to a RR mechanic and had it diagnosed. He was told that the cats are whats causing the engine light. I'll probably try to tackle the door lock myself, it only unlocks from the inside when you press the unlock button several times. I just might have to get the tilt steering feature looked at by a mechanic.

Thanks for the help

If the cats are officially bad, they are covered under Federal warranty, and should be replaced free with the exception of labor of course, but the parts would be free. This is assuming (I hate to ass.u.me) nothing caused them to go bad, like bad O2 sensors or temp sensor.
