From the LR website:
PERFORMANCEENGINESThe All-New Discovery comes with an impressive choice of diesel and gasoline engines, each one delivering effortless performance and refinement. A range which includes the latest generation, high-efficiency 3.0-liter Turbocharged diesel engine with 443 lb-ft of Torque, and the 340-horsepower Supercharged V6 engine which maximizes power delivery.

A number of the new capabilities are intriguing and could be very useful. Time and experience will tell. The number 1 knock on the LR products has long been (and in my mind unfairly) reliability. They need to nail the reliability. This is pretty tough during the first couple years of a new model that is introducing so many new features. But if they can turn around the poor reliability perception in the market this thing could have some legs.

Yeah, no way. I know diesel engines can be super torquey, but 600lb-ft? Maybe from a big displacement V8, not a 3-liter turbo 6. The real figure is probably closer to 400-450 (which is still a lot. That would be my engine of choice.)

The stated torque from the gas V6 Supercharged looks suspect as well. Isn't it pretty much the same engine of the current LR4? 340 hp, 332 lb-ft of torque.

IIRC, those specs on the SCV6 are the same as they were on. My MY14. Yep, 332 lb-ft of torque. Whereas your V8 had over 400. So I'm a bit confused by the stated towing capacities. But, hey, if that's what they are saying in print then that is good news.

Was looking at the brakes specs on the brochure. 14.2" disc diameter front and 13.8" rear... Those are the same dimensions of the LR4 disc brakes (as the vehicle is so much lighter, the brakes probably were left alone in the redesign.) There is some hope we will still be able to fit an aftermarket 18" wheel over those bad boys - as Land Rover once again offers nothing smaller than 19" from the factory.

Like our British friends say...Brilliant! Looks pretty sweet to me. Especially on the move. Once we see it on the road with different wheel and tire packages and colorways other than the Burnt Orange, and Grey option, we should get a better feel.

I have to say, the rear tailgate and seats being automatic was a no brainer. They even gave it an imaginative name..." Intelligent Seat Fold System". The 2nd and 3rd row can be activated and controlled via a phone app, by buttons on the console, or by the front touchscreen. Smart...The women who are the majority of drivers of these vehicles will appreciate that.

Also noticed the air suspension is now optional. That may be a good thing for LR considering all the headaches they've had in that area over the years. How many consumers really utilize the adjustable suspension anyway? And to be honest, it's really the only part of the car I have some apprehension about going forward. So the option is a another brilliant aspect. Well done England!

Anxious to see one in traffic...

Those are the same SCV6 specs, the diesel should have 254 hp and 443 lb ft. The old 5L V8 was 375 hp & 375 lb ft.

I am disappointed in the exterior design, but I knew it was coming. Same design language as L405 and L494. I mean its good looking on its own, but compared to the LR4 it's just not special.
It's good to see LR finally offering the safety and other tech that the Germans/Japanese have been offering for years. I just wonder how reliable it will all be.

I think the little faux tailgate thing is ridiculous. I don't why they didn't just split the tailgate.

They left the split tailgate on the L405. I don't why they couldn't have on the Disco 5.
