I enjoy my front runner:) make sure you get the ax and shovel mounts as well.

Everyone asks me if people mess with the ax on the Discovery. My response, "would you mess with someone who carries and ax and shovel?"

I purchased the Frontrunner rack and installed it on my Rover. I wasn't happy with it at all for a few reasons. It whistled loudly no matter how I adjusted the wind deflector. The mounting points used for the rack are in places where you can't move slats away from the sunroofs, even if you wanted to. The cover plate that has their logo on it serves no other purpose and adds an extra piece that you can and "might" drop on your door (dinging the paint) like I did. I removed it and returned it to Frontrunner.

It was a little bit of a hassle but they were great about working with me during the return.

That's a bummer. I really want to like the front runner but I keep coming across reviews like yours that resonate with me. Are you going to try the eezi-awn? The project LR4 over on expedition portal had the eezi-awn and seemed to be a successful rack during their trips.

I just returned two different front runner ladders. One was initial install and the second was a confirmation ladder to verify I didn't get a bad ladder. Both won't quite fit the 2016 LR4. They look really awesome but will wreck you paint and pull the light/unlock module away from the car if you actually force it to fit.

Returns are a breeze and the company was top notch to work with during returns.

I have not fit my roof rack yet as I need a second pair of hands to install it.

I have the 3/4th slimline 2 on a 2016.5 lr4 and it's great. It has very little wind noise in my experience... Maybe I just got super lucky setting the wind fairings right on the first try. I also have the ladder and it was a pain in the ass to get it flush w the car, I ended up having to bend the sheet metal on the ladder that goes behind the plate light to make it fit correctly... But still, with a little love the ladder fits nicely and it supports my 170lbs w ease.. Also I had a question about mounting the rack, emailed fromtrunner, and the dudes replied with a super detailed amd helpful response in a few hours. Great company. IMHO.

How did you bend the light plate part of the ladder? I thought about doing the same but was afraid I'd totally mess it up. You bent it to keep the far drivers side of the light plate from pulling away that 1/4 inch right?

Have the rack & ladder. Happy with both. These reviews are stressing me out, now I want to look at the car (sun not up yet).

Bending ladders and extra plates that fall and dent the car?

4 months & 5 thousand miles with no issues that I know of. Would buy again.

Same here, no problems.

I initially bought the 3/4 size rack with ladder. Completed a 3 thousand venture to Utah and New Mexico, and it performed well.

Since then, I have also bought the additional pieces to build a full size rack, and can easily change between the two options to suit my needs. Have nearly 10k with this rack installed and zero problems. i have an August 2016 LR4.

I'm thinking about a 3/4 version & ladder. Anybody mind posting pics of theirs? Sure like to see a few of the end results. I'd also love to see some close ups of the problem areas on the ladder.
