Just ordered a set of Compomotives and 265/65/18 BFG K02. Can't wait for them to come in. I thought I read that the center caps from the factory wheels will clip into the Compomotives, is this right? I have a set of 20" Black Pack wheels.

I painted mine black and wrapped the prongs on the back with 3 layers of electrical tape. They clipped right in and are still there just fine.

I bought some cheap black lug nut covers from Amazon to cover the stock lugs. They look great.

Oops meant 285/50

Thoughts too wide?

I had 265 50 on my '11 LR4 and had a nice stance.

Anyone have rear end picture of 285s installed?

Planning same rims as my previous '11 pictured below.

285/50x20 on a 9" wide wheel looks awesome! It looks just right in fact. 10 years ago that's what I had on my lr3 with the RR "stormer" 20" wheels. It was impractical but provided great cornering on interstates at 80 mph and looked perfect because the wider wheel gets a more flush fender edge look.

Since then I've gone to 275/56x18 on all sets and 245/75x17 for the studded nokian LT2 set with 25mm spacers full time.

Gorilla Nutz makes LR spec black lug nuts. Quality seems great so far and holding up to winter chemicals too.

Ok, I have an appointment to have my 265/65 K02's mounted on Tuesday but I just thought of a potential problem. Will the 265/65/18 K02's be too tall for me to use snowcables like this:http://www.peerlesschain.com/tire-chain-finder/traction/tirechains/676

There are times chains are required and I hadn't thought about that added diameter being a problem till now. Has anyone successfully run snow chains/cables on their 265/65/18 K02's?

That is actually part of why I plan to go to 265/60R18. The tires touch the frame horns already.. no room for cables.

If snow and ice is that big of a deal in your region, most people keep their stock 19" wheels and put a dedicated winter tire that could also accommodate chains when necessary. Put your 18" wheel / KO2 setup on outside of the winter months. This way you get the best of both worlds.

That is very true, and I do have my stock 255/55R19 wheels/tires sitting in the garage which will work with the Z-579 Z-Chain also (as well as 265/65R18 and 265/60R18).

I should buy some snows for them. They have almost new stock (Crap) tires on them which I would NOT want to use in iowa winters.

Weird, I tried calling them and they said no. I had those on my old STi and loved them.
