I've been having issues lately where I start the car and it gives me special program error, vehicle lowered, lights flashing. I turn the car off then on again and it works fine with no errors. This was happening every once and a while but now its happening almost every time I start the car and now sometimes i have to restart it a couple times before it starts up with no errors. Any ideas?

I tried to do a search, but Im not the best at it and couldnt find anybody where the problem would go away on restart.

We need to know more. Usually it won't say anything about Special Programs unless you have selected a Terrain Response Special Program (Grass/Gravel/Snow, Sand, etc). Also, which lights are flashing? Can you raise the vehicle back up?

First blush I'd say check your battery (voltage) and if that's not it then replace the brake switch. Your non-charging battery voltage should be about 12.5V. If it's below 12 you can get some weird behavior not unlike what you've described. Good luck!

I've recently replaced the brake switch. I'll look into the battery, but i think the voltage is fine. The weird thing is that when the error occurs and I scan using the GAP Tool, it shows no suspension errors. I cannot raise or lower the vehicle, it automatically lowers itself. Now that I think about it, it rarely happens after the engine is warmed up.

I was not selecting special programs, but it does say special programs unavailable.

The lights that are on are the ABS light, the triangle with a arrow circling around it, and the suspension fault light with arrows showing the car flipping over.

The battery voltage that you stated is this the car completely off minimum? 12.5V or Car turned on but not engine turned on? I noticed that when the car was ON but engine OFF, the voltage was below 12.5V slightly.

P.S. Houm_WA, I was actually thinking to myself, I hope he still hangs around the forum else I dont have much hope figuring this out. If this forum isnt sharing revenue with you then they need to be! Thanks Again!

Oh man...I'm just a role player. There are plenty of folks on here with more detailed knowledge than myself. Thank you though...

So for the battery I meant car not turned on. Car off but using the IIDTool to get a voltage reading. (there is another way but the IIDTool is easiest). If it's 12.5V I'd say it does not explain your faults.

How is your alignment? This could be a wheel angle sensor, too. I think the IIDTool can read that individual sensor so you might give it a try. Go into the READ FAULTS menu and navigate to "INDIVIDUAL ECUs" and find STEERING ANGLE SENSOR or whatever it is.

Ok, so i got a new battery hoping that would fix the problem, but nope. I have been having issues with a tire leaking and Im wondering if that has anything to do with it. I will look into a wheel angle sensor, but my alignment seems to be pretty good.

What reading shuold i look for int he steering angle sensor?

Anything else i should check?

The problem has gotten worse, i was able to restart the car a coupld times and it would go away. Now i have to restart it about 10 times before it goes away and sometimes i cant get it to go away.

For the steering angle sensor reading I'd just look to see if there is a fault stored and if so, clear it. Then get a new sensor installed if it happens again.

Ive replaced the battery, brake light switch, cleaned the connectors behind the battery at the ecus, checked the steering angle sensor. The problem is still there and now it is constant. It wont allow me to raise or lower the vehicle. I havent driven it in a month because of this. I've flashed the computer. I inspected all the wires at the passenger door sill. Im not sure what else to do

I guess at this point you have to just clear get it to a driveable height (keep the faults in storage if you can) and pull the EAS-related fuses. Then take it to the dealer or your mechanic of choice.

Did you check the connectors under the center console? If moisture got in there (small spill or sunroof leak/left open) some of the electrical pins can get corrosion on them and cause crazy errors.

Sorry, I'm a little late to this. Have you checked your compressor? I had very similar issues when mine was going bad. If the compressor isn't running you will get these faults. On the IID tool check the gallery pressure while the truck is running it should be over 1500 kPa.
