That information came from my wife's dealership. However, doing my own little research just now, I think this more of an approach that some manufacturers are taking to meet a mandate on fuel economy by '25.

So hopefully, they can find another solution. But I know in the UK that it's been around for a while........

haha this thread is like the kiss of death. My 2016 purchased in February just stopped executing the start/stop as well. So i'm guessing it is the secondary battery.

Off to the shop.

I've been in plenty of other cars that the stop / start feature is seamless and smooth. Chalk this one up to Land Rover just sloppily throwing it in for a bid to decrease fuel economy. Sounds like it needs a lot more refinement.

Our 16 will be a year old Feb 27th. She hated the ECO feature and trns it off before driving. I've noticed that when I drive, it does not work anymore. Wondering if I should let dealer know on its annual service next month. Really don't want it working again.

I think it's been said earlier in this thread, but there's a dedicated battery under the hood for this feature, once it goes dead so does the feature. Dealership will take care of it if you tell them...if they fix it regardless you can unplug the connection to safely keep it from working. There's a few threads floating around on how to do that as well

I had the same thing go wrong with my wife's 2015. ECO not working, no amber warning light. It ended up being a module that controls the ECO system itself. Dealer replaced it, ECO then worked as designed. I can't stand it, its very choppy and disconcerting so I disconnected the auxiliary battery.

I am glad my ECO doesnt work most of the time but wish it would stop working completely on its own without me disabling it and look at a big warning light all day. LR did such a terrible job with this system. Other makes, regardless of price point, have a MUCH smoother transition with their auto stop/start. I bet that even in a lab situation, LR4's "Eco" system does not see real life mpg saving.

My 2015 ECO stopped working about a year ago. Initially I didn't have a problem with it but I changed my opinion after a few months of ownership. It is really fine about 99% of the time. However, it's the 1% where it became dangerous...like when you have to turn across a lane of oncoming traffic. When there is finally a gap and you have to GO, it is not the best when you just come to a stop and the engine stops! The fact that this is still a requirement means that a lawyer hasn't been T-***** yet.
