Hello all! I am a newbie on the form... I just purchased a 2013 LR4. I was hoping I could get some suggestions from yall with more experience with these cars. Portland is covered in 2-3 feet of snow in some areas and I live at elevation so I am more in the 3 feet category. I had a 2013 4runner and was getting along just fine but the wife wanted to get something a little more roomy and I wanted to see if I could get something more capable as well. Turns out I can't get this thing to go up any of the incline streets in my neighborhood and my 4runner was cutting through these just fine.
I have tried the low settings, and the snow drive mode etc.

I am obviously disappointed because of all the amazing things I have heard about these vehicles. I must be missing something here. Any thoughts?

I should add, it's on 20 inch scorpion all seasons which are W rated...

Thank you in advance!!

Welcome to the forum. Buy Snow tires for snow. I doubt your 4runner had 20 crap tires.

Hi Pacman,
Snow tires make all the difference, and then there are amazing snow tires. Scorpions are soft and great for sticking to the hot pavement in the summer. Winter is a different ball game. Especially when the temp reaches below 20F. After trying 4 different brands of winters, I have choosen Nokian hakkapeliitta 8 studded and I'm on my fourth set.( studded isn't legal in every state or province.)
Probably not the vehicles fault why it can't make it up the street. i would address other issues first. Please keep in mind snow conditions change through the day,
When you throw winters on a LR it makes and amazing winter vehicle.

hope this helps
