i was driving thru some bad weather and got a warning that the sensor was blocked. Then the auto hi beam stopped working and hasn't worked since. There is nothing blocking the sensor and I've never gotten the message again. I assume the sensor is those two lens-like things where the mirror is attached to the windshield.

Any ideas?

The low resolution camera for the high beams assist feature is actually an inch or so away from the windshield, just below the square sensor sandwiched between rear view mirror and windshield (that one is the rain / light sensor for auto headlamps and windshield wipers.) Are you sure you don't have grime on the glass or something dangling in front of that camera lens, like a parking pass or similar? You should be able to gently wipe the lens clean with a soft wipe if it appears dirty. Does AUTO still show in the instrument cluster under the green headlamps icon? If it doesn't say AUTO anymore, perhaps the sensor was temporarily blocked as you were driving in bad weather, and the featured turned itself off as a result... Never happened to me, but then again I have never seen a "Sensor blocked" warning either, so I guess that might be possible. In that case, simply enable AHBA back from the instrument cluster's menu (press OK on the steering wheel > Vehicle Setup > High Beam Assist > Check "Activate" and "Drive on Left", or something like that...)

If none of that works, your camera / sensor may be kaput, and the fact you were driving in bad weather may just be a coincidence, as I don't see how bad weather could permanently affect or damage the sensor otherwise. Keep us posted.

Thank you very much for your reply. I didn't know that was the sensor. I think it's partially blocked by the new inspection sticker!

I never got the "blocked" message again, it just won't go out of high beam.

Where do you guys put the state inspection stickers?

I gotta get the garage to put a new one on somewhere else.
