But I agree... 55 all the way around seems awfully high as well as strange that F and R are not different.
I asked if they could clarify their recommendation and this is what I got back.
Your original tire size of 255/50R20, carries a load of 2270 LBS front and rear at 37 and 43 psi. So, when you go over to an LT tire, LT265/60R18", you have to match the 2271LBS for the BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 tire. Tire size LT265/60R18 will carry a similar load at 55 psi or 2330 LBS. If you use a lower pressure of 50 psi, the tires will only carry 2205 LBS. So, the next load for weight will be 55 psi minimum.

Well, thanks @wlvrn
I guess I'll go higher than originally thought...

Anyone know how many ft-lbs of torque I should use on the Compos?

I'm guessing around 105?

Just got off the phone with BFG and they insist that according to their tables, 55 PSI on those KO2s is correct based on the recommended PSIs on the door, the wheel size, tire size and load.

I don't pretend to have fully absorbed the mathematics involved, but from what I understand they take what's on the door plate, translate the OE tire size and PSIs into load requirements, look them up in their tables for the new tire/size and come up with the PSI. Given that the KO2s are a light truck tire designed to carry the weight of a much heavier vehicle, the increase in PSI is to keep those tires at a level where they can correctly support the translated load while wearing evenly. I think I got that right....

Torque is 103, I believe (from my digging around these forums and others... my local tire shop said 102... close enough).

55 psi it is.

Now I just have to cross my fingers that my flight doesn't get too delayed and I will have everything mounted up later today.
A little more excited than I probably should be.

The PD 1881 from Compomotive has proven to be a very popular choice for those wanting an 18" wheel and more tire selection as shown on are chart.
You can see them here for more info:

Black has been selling very fast. Here are some pics:

It would be really great to get a controlled photo comparison (i.e.: same light level / angle) for the Anthracite vs Black. I love my Anthracite, but they can look completely different depending on the light conditions and amount of dirt on them. I know people ask for pics when shopping around for Compos, but most pics do not do them justice.

Wish Compo would offer more colors, as in stock silver or whatever it is. I'm not into the current trend of blacking out everything. Eeck.

I've had my LR4 about 2 months now and am loving it.
I ended up getting Compomotives and KO2s a little quicker than I anticipated so I could be sure to test them in snow this season.

Greg @Johnson Rods provided excellent personal service and care with quick shipping on the wheels.

Now I just have to take her on some real trails...

Couple of quick pics from this weekend:

They definitely used to offer them in silver (by special order) back when I ordered mine 4 years ago, have you contacted them directly to find out if they still do? There are at least a couple of photos of LR3/4s fitted with them at their web site: http://www.compomotive.co.uk/wheels/wheels.asp?section=pd-30-13
