That is how they are designed. They just barely clear the calipers.

If you snap some photos of the calipers near the pads, I can tell you if that looks similar to what I've got going on.

Got my new gorilla lug nuts put on! Looks way better than the stock chrome ones. Now i just have to get blacked out center caps. The ones on there now did not match the picture of what I ordered from ebay. They look even more lame now with the black lugs.

Anyone have clearance issues with compos?

I'm at my local shop cause the weights they added to the rim for balancing were hitting the calipers on the front passenger side. One whole row of weights got ripped off completely it would seem.

Looking at the calipers on both fronts, they are DANG close to the rim. Is that normal?

My calipers are within millimeters of the rim. I even had to file one a bit because that wheel must have been slightly out of round. My weights are outboard of the calipers.

Yes, that's the clearance - just enough. Tight squeeze for wheel weights if they glue them right there. Something similar happened to me the very first time ever I had these balanced, even though my tire shop double stacked some weights. Now they know better.

Thanks everyone. Good to know there isn't something weird with the clearance.

Thanks again @umbertob for the lug nut recommendation. They definitely look way better than stock.

@backcountryLR4 Yup, that's how mine look as well. I see the weights in my wheels are offset a bit; I'm guessing to avoid the calipers.

I was curious when you mentioned this as when I took the car out for the first time for a long drive after having the wheels put on, after about 2 hours on the road, the wheel well floor on the driver's side felt particularly warm. I was having trouble pinpointing it and when you mentioned the rubbing against the balance weights, my mind went there as a possible culprit. Regardless, I'm going to keep my eye on this.

Whoa @Perseus!
Are those the fronts or rears? My rears maybe have that much clearance, but the fronts definitely do not. Feels like card stock would almost get stuck there let alone the weights.

I have LR3 wheels with spacers on my LR4. The front wheel to caliper clearance is tight. And yes, weights can be sheared off if not placed properly. I now tell them where to put them on every R&B. I actually walk the service manager to the truck and show them the clearance. If you don't some tire jockey will place them wherever they want and you will be making a trip back to the shop. Been there, done that.
