I have an 05 LR3, 4.4 dual climate controls. Craziest thing I've ever seen, if I put the passenger control to hot and the drivers to cold, I get hot air on the drivers side. Swap them, get cold on drivers and hot on passenger. Both controls on cold, hot on driver, cold on passenger. Both controls on hot, cold on driver, hot on passenger. Occasionally I can get cool air on the driver and ice cold on the passenger with both controls on cold, but not very often. Ideas?

Is the fan on "auto" while this is happening? I've noticed that the controlled air "mixes" the way it wants to when the knobs aren't both hot or both cold. The fact that you have hot air on drive with both knobs to cold is a red flag though. I guess I'd go get it looked at.

Never use the "auto" button. At a loss. I've taken the controller apart and cleaned what looked like soda residue out of it. I've had it for four years now and put 35k miles on it and haven't figured the a/c issue out yet.

...might be time to bit the bullet and take it to the dealer.

Sounds like the problem is your gizintos are going into your gizoutofs and your gizoutofs are going into your gizintos. That's all I can figure. ;)
