That sounds like an expensive way of getting more LEDs.
Appreciate it, I hadn't noticed that there was an upgrade to 2014+ vehicles. Good to know they don't fit stock...saved me some investigation.

PowerfulUK offers a whole "facelift" kit that's not too pricey. I really enjoy the LEDs on my 2016, when I cruise the beach at night I just turn the LEDs on and it creates enough light to see where you are going without blinding passer byes...Plus they just look really cool and yes I think that's awesome, especially at night.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that is probably overly pleased with how the 2014+ LED headlights look.

I'm not saying that was a significant factor in buying the newer LR4, but it was a tick the win column.

I love how they look without the headlights on. They are surprisingly bright too. I use them until it is too dark to see in the peripherals. I think it takes the older, classic look of the LR4 and adds a touch of modernity.

I like my LR3 taillights over the altezza style on the LR4. The 3's looked more dignified. The same thing with the grille. At first I thought " Wow that LR4 grill looks much more upscale" but now as time passes on there is something about the understated simplicity of the LR3 that I prefer.

I emailed them to ask.
OP, sorry to turn your tailgate conversation into a headlight conversation. To stay on topic, I should point out that they also have a taillight upgrade option - HERE

Unless they sell headlights for a left-hand drive car, you wouldn't want them regardless.

No worries at all. Unless there is already one in existence, maybe this thread could turn into a dedicated thread for Headlights & Tail lights upgrades discussion etc. Not sure if the name of the thread could be changed to something more appropriate.

Still open to upgrade ideas.

My wife has a 2013 Q5. It has a nice fine led line. For some reason LR spaced these LEDs a couple inches apart. Were they that expensive 4 years ago?

I don't believe cost was a factor, but rather it was a style choice at the time, if you think about it back in 2009 when the LR4 was launched LED strips were nowhere near as ubiquitous - and nowhere near as obnoxiously overused, in my opinion - as they are today in virtually every friggin' car made. They were Land Rover's signature "accent" LEDs for their 2010 headlamps (including RRS and RR), and were not designed to output any sort of meaningful light, or to stay on full time without low or high beams. As a matter of fact, you really can't fire up those LEDs by themselves on pre-facelift LR4s - unless you drive around with your parking lights on, which is of course illegal.

I have a 2012 LR4 HSE and the original halogen lights were had a dull look to them. I LOVED the low and high beams on my 2008 LR3, but was so disappointed when I purchased the 2012 and was told that they do not have them as standard OEM. I just purchased new HID low beams and it is a remarkable difference. Brighter true white glow, not that cheap looking colored glow. I'll post pics soon!
