I have searched the forums and can't seem to find a answer.

Duratracs 255/55/R19 XL Load rating 111

But I see two options for the same spec tire for speed rating - S and Q

Most locations do not have the Q rating in stock. (at least on line) I can find the S rating, but it always seems to be a cheaper price. ( the Q ratings show the regular price yet... just can't order them) S rating is the higher speed rating so I am confused.

Any reason or issues with the S rating over the Q rating?

Thanks
Shane

I've had mind S rated 275/55 Duratracs for about 15k miles. No issues. Ride is smooth. I rotate/balance every 5k miles. Wear is good. A few chips in outer tread areas. I'm assuming this is from use as I do wheel my 4. But again highway speeds 65-85 are just fine.

The 255/55/19 Duratrac that I bought two years was product code 150663574 and was Q rated. The tire disappeared for a short time and when it came back the product code changed to 150884574 and was briefly listed as S rated, but then I thought it went back to Q.

I found one site with both Q and S versions listed, but it had the same product ID code and there is no way Goodyear would have two different tires with the same ID, so it was likely caused by a brief posting of different specs by Goodyear. I thought all of the 255/55/19 were Q rated, if not (per the above post) then perhaps the new ID code was in fact reflective of a change to a S rating.

The tire seems to have vanished from the Goodyear site again, who knows if it will be back or not...and what the specs may be...

S-rating has been great for me. I run three sets of tires, though: Conti all seasons, Nokian R2 winters, and the Duratracs.

If you want the Duratracs, however, you'd better get them soon. They're going away/being replaced. Goodyear is making a dumb move and rebranding their A/Ts. The 19's are a little challenging to find. Good luck.

Hello All,

SO up here in Canada - Canadian tire did have these on sale S speed for 239.00 CND. Great deal that I had ordered, now they have advised that they are unable to fulfill.

I have searched around and found the Q speed for 293.00 CND (the S ratings for 311.00CND plus shipping) $130 difference on 5 plus tax

Sounds like the actual rating is not a different tire, but should I buy S or the Q

Damn Goodyear and it's discontinuing product. :)

Bummer about the duratracs, but glad I just bought 3 to utilize my spare. Unless there are some seriously discontinued discounts, its probably good time for me to try something new anyway.
