Hey guys,

Looking to be pointed in the right direction. I've seen people on the forums with different variations of this problem but nothing exactly like what I've got.

I recently purchased a 2003 Disco 2. I have two separate issues.

First, my key fob will ONLY unlock my drivers door and my rear door. As I understand it the cental locking system goes through the drivers door and then branches to control the other 3 passenger doors.

Second none of my interior lights will turn on. It seems unlikely that they would all go out at the same time.

1. I can unlock all of the doors from the inside.

2. I have checked all engine compartment fuses and drivers side interior fuses beneath the steering wheel. They all appear to be in working order.

3. I cannot get the driver door key to manually unlock or lock. It seems to be stuck in its current position.

4. I've seen some people mention that there could be a connection between this issue and the fact that none of my interior lights turn on.

The previous owner was a bit of a shade tree mechanic and said that the vehicle was stuck in super lock at one point but that he managed to reverse it. I'm not sure if that has any bearing on this but I felt it was worth mentioning. Thanks in advance for your help!

You have a superlock issue. Your interior fuse box got wet at some point. At some point you'll need to replace it. What will happen is that as the fuse box dries, the issuer may seem to resolve itself. Your Keyfob will work, you can lock and unlock the doors, but then, suddenly you won't be able to unlock anything but the driver side door, and you can't even unlock the other doors from the inside, then it gets better, then back to that.
There are a couple of tricks to get out of superlock issues, such as inserting the key and turning open and holding it there for 3 seconds.
But eventually, you'll have to replace the fusebox. You can buy a salvaged one for much less than new.
