Anyone have the actual shop manual and could send me a snap shot of the instructions?? They wouldn't show that to me...

Thank you in advance!
Ryan

I have no idea what bandwidth this guy has on his file share, but this is one of the only complete workshop manuals I've seen online...

Page 540/5528 covers this.

2006 LR3 rear and front differential recommendation is pretty much every oil change. Free breathing so fill it until it spills (I use Royal Purple), comes out "well used" dark and smelly with shavings every time.... Did my Wife's LR4 at 23000, clear and nice totally different than my 209000 mile LR3 (LR4 has front Royal Purple, rear LR "special"). Your mileage may vary.

The front diff is the biggest pain the ass compared to the others because you need to take the front skid plate off.

The drain hole is front and center once the plate is removed.

I found the same gunk on the front drain plug.

To get the best access to the fill hole I removed the drivers front wheel. It made it much easier to fill the diff.

It took just under 1 litter.

I'm about to do differential and transfer case oil change. Thanks for this documentation but I have one... You removed the driver front wheel to replace the front differential oil? Is this correct? Thanks

Thanks for reviving this thread. This fall I'll be at 6 years and ~38k miles. I think I will tackle the diffs & transfer case then.

I didn't take my wheel off. If you've got a good injector tool and flexible hose, there's no need to.
