So I put in a set of OEM short rails on my truck and even though I tightened them pretty good, they seem loose and rattle when driving. This tells me I should tighten them up, but before I do I wanted to see if anyone else ran into this, I have them pretty damn tight, going to have to bust out the torque wrench to get them tighter...but also don't want to break anything....

If you had to dig out the plastic plugs installed from the factory, you may not have got them all out completely. When I did mine, I was surprised how deep the bolts went down. I wouldn't torque beyond spec, you could strip the threads in the holes and cause more problems.

That's odd. Maybe run a tap through those and clean up the threads. Something must not be going down all the way.

They were crazy tight, just sprayed some wd40 in there and muscled it, worked out without breaking anything. Thanks everyone for the feedback.
