I thought I'd read that you have to get elbow-deep into the tank just to reach the pump!?!?!?

It depends on version. One is right in the middle (under the cap) and the other is slightly off centre, both relatively easy to get out, now the sensors, that is something different

Removing the fuel tank is a major PITA. make sure you have extra nuts & bolts cause some will seized. (Yes I've been there done it more than once...)

Removing the tank is very easy. I had replaced both Sending Unit senors last month on my 2006 HSE. removing pump is very easy. I suggest you check things in engine compartment such as cleaning fuel system and spark plugs.

probably just buy a toyota LOL ;)

joking, do you have a way to check diagnostics and clear codes? might be a system reset or you could try the vehicle "hard reset" via battery disconnection method. (read it carefully of course)

The books says once the system is powered up press and hold the TSD in the center at the top of the screen for 5 seconds and then press the navigation hard key. That is supposed to bring up a screen where you enter the code 753 and that should bring up a diagnostic screen. I don't have factory nav, mine is aftermarket so I can't test this first for you. The picture looks like you press about half an inch down from the top and centered between left and right.
