Hi guys,
I know this topic was covered in past posts for earlier models, but wanted to ask if anyone had installed one of these in a 2012 HSE? My truck is 2 months old and the dealer said it could definitely be done. When I asked if they had ever done one he said yes, on a RRS, but not the LR4. Any advice on trying to do this job myself?
Thanks!

I'm sure they can do it, but why? It's not all that useable in my experience. If you know that you need it, then by all means get it. If you think you just miss it because it wasn't an option on yours, don't sweat it.

I have it and it's nice on long trips but pretty pointless around town here in Dallas when it's 105 outside and my black exterior and interior makes it feel like 1005. At that point, when I feel the inside cooler walls, it's crazy hot to the touch. So turning the cooler on and getting it to a cool enough temp to keep beverages cold would take a while.

Thanks for the feedback. We live in Oregon so we don't get nearly as hot as Dallas! Frankly, I'm looking into it to keep my 6 yr. old and 3 yr. old's water bottles cold for when I pick them up after school. Appreciate the comments.

Buy a small cooler at Walmart. Only had the LR4 for a short while but I don't really think I would miss it if it wasn't there.

Mine has one but honestly I forget its even there. I wired a second battery in my truck and wired the back of the truck (Traxide) for our ARB fridge. You may end up spending the same getting the OEM cooler installed when it all said and done. The ARB cooler is amazing and will run for 4 days without turning the truck on. Great for camping!

I just retrofitted one in my 2012 LR4, took around an hour. However the cooler is not turning on. Fuse 16 is good. I trawled through JLR SDD software and could not find any options for enabling the cooler in the car configuration page. Anyone know how to enable this?

Done many times in the UK and on their biggest forum several times. Here is a link to some instructions and a video
Thanks for that. The installation was very straightforward and I had no issues with that. The issue is that the unit does not power up, not that I cannot fit it. I am looking for advice on how to enable the cooler wiring harness to power up.
I bought it from a salvage yard who said they tested it prior to shipping and it worked in their vehicle.

I may have to run a separate hot wire to the wiring harness, but I don't like that in case I introduce other issues.
