I haven't had a LR for a number of years, previously had a 2000 Disco II, which I sold in 2006. Now I'm semi retired and decided keeping another one running would be a good hobby. I just picked up a 2005 LR3, a SE in silver with black leather. I overpaid a bit but it only has 81,000 miles and just had a complete new air suspension installed including the compressor. I'll probably wind up keeping it fairly stock, just some bolt on's for towing and travel, stock will be fine for the mild offloading we do.

Congrats!
Overpaying a bit doesn't matter if you've avoided the nuisance and down-time of replacing the air suspension and compressor.

Question added in edit: are there a lot of flood damaged LRs coming out of Houston?

I haven't heard of many, but they say at least a few hundred thousand cars total had some level of water damage.
