2006 LR3 transmission fault

Thank you in advance for any help. I have an 06 lr3 Miles are around 140000. This weekend it came up with the P2720 code and a P0658 code. About 3 months ago the break switch had been changed when it got stuck in park. I have had no issues with shifting or anything else even after a 1100 mile trip earlier in September. I have been unable to get it cleared. Is there anything simple I'm missing to correct this or is it a trip to the shop?

I have a 2005 LR3 that had a transmission fault and it turned out to be the wires under the passenger side door sill. There was a total of 3 sets wires that all came apart. You will have to pull all the tape off and look for wires that have been spliced together from the manufacture. On mine, every wire that was spiced two to one was corroded and disconnected. One of them fixed my trans fault.

I had a serpentine belt go and when it blew up it ripped the jacketing off of the fan wires, causing them to short, and it threw a few codes including the transmission fault. The short caused two fuses to blow in the process. I fixed the wires and changed the two blown fuses, one of which was for the transmission. The blown fuses were in the engine compartment, not the ones behind the glove compartment. Possibly when your brake wiring was worked on, something shorted and blew a fuse or two. Might be worth checking.

Save yourself some money, go to http://www.rswsolutions.com/index.php/discovery-iii-lr3 buy the software and OBDII Bluetooth device option, run the diagnostics on your truck, then send me a PM on what service manual you need to fix it, Ill see what I can dig up

cost me 185.00 roughly, but now im looking at some other software that might be even better.... :/
