Finally got around to ordering some lighting essentials. For a while I wasn’t sure if I’d go LazerLamps from the UK or find a cheaper, American option. Some Toyota guys and overlanders recommended ExtremeLED’s. Turns out the quality is up there with Ridid and Lazer for a fraction of the cost. Normally, I’d fork out the extra cost for assurance, but the return policy and warranty was too hard to pass up.

Ordered a pair of 8” combo bars at 2,880 lumens with an IP67 rating. Lazer claims 3,400 lumens, but for my purpose and about $300 cheaper I couldn’t pass up Extreme’s deal.

Land Rover doesn’t seem to make any ideal brackets other than bumper mounted. Knowing Lucky8 carried ProSpeed, made a quick call to them and had them ship a pair of brackets.

Will be posting photos and a quick DYI for those considering auxiliary lights. Haven’t come across too many threads on lighting choices so figured I’d toss this out for anyone interested.

ProSpeedUK makes mounting solutions including a lightbar above the wind screen. Lucky8 has a few in stock to avoid paying high shipping/tax, $230 or so. The grill brackets are $198+shipping from them as well. LazerLamps is based out of Essex, UK. ExtremeLED is out of Colorado; both are very high quality. LazerLamps released an Instagram sneakpeak today of some “inside the grille” mounting systems they’re designing. Attached is a screen grab from their post. I’ll be interested in this option once on sale. My goal with lighting isn’t to over do it or be it obnoxious per say. Rather functional. They’ve got great Black Friday sales going on right now, both companies. I work for neither. Just spreading the word on good products for us who plan on accessorizing. Cheers!

This company makes a solid looking mounting system, OEM Plus. Unfortunately, I’ve yet to find an English site or US Distributed. I’ve sent an email to them. They have it priced at £990 for the mounting system AND Lazer TripleR Elite LED’s.

I threw my ProSpeed light mounts in the trash.
I ordered through Lucky8, and should have known better given the coating issues on my rear ladder from ProSpeed.

I spoke with both Erik at Lucky8 and Tom at Prospeed about it. Erik has dome good suggestions but, ProSpeed was of no help.

The light mounts come horrible over coated, so I had to re-drill every mounting hole on them.
Then once mounted they were flimsy, at best. A small bump would cause the light to shake.
I live in a rural area, so the extra lighting is very beneficial, but i felt like i was at the club with strobe lights, they shook so much.
I verified fitment, and tightened everything up. But they still were not a strong as i would have hoped.

I made templates of the parts, before binning them. I will make my own set come spring, out of some thicker material.

I’ll see how they arrive. If they’re garbage I’ll send back before drilling or mounting. Thanks for the heads up. What lighting setup did you go with?

Mounts arrived today. Just finished installing them. Haven’t installed the brackets that hold the lights in place just yet. Going to see if the brackets that come with sets of lights are any better.

Materials and coating were just fine. Had zero fitment issues. Hardest part of aligning both sides to match once grill was in place.

My only complaint is the bolts provided are cheaply made. One of the heads snapped off while using a wrench. Had to drill through the broken bolt and pull out of hole.

Update. The 8” bars from Exteme LED were too long from heat sink to front lense to work with the brackets. Sending those back for a full refund and coughing up $560 for a pair of ST4 Lazer’s made to bolt on directly.
