Welcome to the forum. Well you can wire and external fuse, but Make sure you use correct wire size and fuse or you will have more issues.

There are a couple of spare fuse locations that you can move the wires to - requires removing fuse box to see the wires. Usually a burnt/melted fuse location is the sign of an oversize fuse being installed or a very bad short.
