Uh oh... I don't want to hear that (as CarMax is putting the finishing touches on a windshield re-replacement now and I'm hoping they didn't re-use these clips.)

If you did not hand them two bags of A pillar clips then I highly doubt any windshield shop will have the specific hardware. Do not fret it is easy to DIY. When you get the vehicle back grab the trim pieces. If you can move it at all replace the clips..

I'll do that, thanks. Are they easy to order/identify with the dealer "I need the body clips that secure the A-Pillar trim."

This, as far as I know is the third time this windshield has been replaced. 2nd for me, and since it came to CarMax with the wrong windshield it was replaced once before. No chance the OEM clips will all last through 3 replacements...

Land Rover came out with some upgraded clips, but my local dealer didn't have them and I used the old ones.

Atlantic British carries the upgraded ones, though:

Can someone know and can recommend a specific extended warranty company plan? I just purchased our second LR4. a 2012 lux with Hdpack with 63k on the clock and I'm curious about having extra protection...

I don't know if you can get it by yourself, but the Lotus/Maserati dealer that sold me my LR4 used Safeguard. So far I'm in the green about 2x over from what I paid for it, and they haven't contested anything yet.. Control Arms, Injectors, power steering, etc.. They did send a mechanic to verify the dealer correctly diagnosed the injector problem, as that was nearly $2K in parts alone..

Good Luck,

Mike

I also would be interested in knowing what extended warranties others can vouch for. So far my research on this forum seems to indicate:
  • Jaguar/LandRover CPO (can you still get this after well after factory warranty expiration?)
  • Route66 (they only offer very basic coverage for JRL)
Any others?

I have a 2015 Lr4 with 46K and looking for a plan. I received some quotes and one from Delta Auto Protect is pretty good for 7 years/75K on top of existing mileage. Any one else have any insights on Delta or any other providers?
