Any experience removing the radiator?

Mine developed a leak, detected with UV dye.

Have the radiator all disconnected but I can't seem to get it out of the engine bay. The flanges that mount to the frame stick out too far to lift straight out. I'm hoping I don't have to remove the entire front of the car.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Probably not much help, but I seem to recall than on these cars, just about anything to do with the front of the car requires the front bumper to come off. I hope not, and judging by your photo you have it pretty loose there.

Good luck.

I was able to tease it out without taking off front end entirely. Moving expansion tank out of the way helped. My guess it was enginered for the right hand drive version, and they just made it work for ours.

Hopefully I can get it back together tonight.

Somewhat hijacking this post... but does anyone know if there is a full aluminum radiator for the D3/D4? Hopefully one that has larger capacity than OEM. Thanks

Looks like I too have to replace the radiator. Developed a leak/corrsion near the base. Any specific feedback, hints on pulling and replacing it? I've done the AC evap/condensor on the LR3 and assume this will be as much of a pain. Thanks!

I too have a leak at the lower / base of my 12 radiator. Any one has any experience with this? Is this a common thing ? I didn't see much about it regarding the LR4

When I took my LR4 into the dealer shortly before my CPO warranty ran out, I went in with the intention of getting my timing chain guides fixed and a few other things. They wound up raking it through the garden, looking for anything and everything that was wrong. The radiator was one thing they replaced, along with the water pump.

2012 with around 78k miles on it at the time.

Well guys, my 2013 with 104k miles has had a slow coolant leak for a while and I’ve pinpointed it to the lower passenger side of the radiator.

Need to do some more digging, but I’m almost certain it’s the radiator.

Anyone have any luck with any upgraded radiators? Would love a bit more cooling capacity (Arizona heat) but I’ll settle with OEM.
