My 2012 LR4 is with the Dealer right now for some warranty/recall work, and they've got me in a SCV6 2016. The engine strikes me as very sluggish and choppy. Not a big fan.

By any chance did any of you notice a difference in the ride/suspension feel, or body composure, between the V8 LR4s and the 2014+ ones? I need to try a 2010-2013 again but back-to-back with my 2016, but I swear, it seems as if LR tightened things up a bit. I just simply recall on my 2011-2012 loaners that they had more dive/pitch and lateral boing-boing movement going on (like when I go onto my garage driveway diagonally). I know the literature and press releases don't claim any changes whatsoever, but I am suspect it?!

lol.... I get what you mean - my current generation loaner did feel tighter ... not necessarily put together better - the build quality seems to be about the same - but suspension wise the newer LR4 did feel tighter and not as "lurchy" in both front end dive on hard braking and body roll in the turns.

I chalked it up to the 19" wheels with thinner side wall tires, some weight loss over the front axle due to the V6 and maybe some tweaking to the air suspension ......

boing....boing..... that's made my day.....

lol yes :)

GoLoaf, not sure why you're experiencing that. Not at all the case is how I feel at part or full throttle, even very light throttle!

I agree, not sluggish or choppy at all. Only think I can think of if the two extra gears but the trans is so smooth. Love the V8, but choppy is not at all how I would characterize the SCV6.

Agree with the more room aspect but really, personally I hate that knob. Its not a cadillac. I have driven loaner evoque and Jags with this knob. It just sucks. With the shifter lever, its much easer and quicker to switch to S mode and/or downshift to call in more power. It also feels sportier to do it that way. Also easier to switch back to D quickly.

I also like to rest my hand on the gear shifter while driving.

I guess just a matter of personal taste.

so they went to the knob in 14? If I want the shifter I need a 13?
