I used jeweler's screwdrivers, tweezers, and a magnifying glass to remove and install the plunger assembly into the new top portion of the key fob.
That's the spirit. I didn't have to transfer that piece the first time I did this fix, but I had to on the 2nd fix of a different fob. I also had an assortment of precision tools laid out around me. I enjoy that sort of meticulous project, but I agree that it was odd that the plunger mechanism wasn't part of the replacement kit. Glad it worked out.
