hello everyone,

i am new to this forum and to LR as well. i just bought 2011 LR4 HSE V8 and already have some questions you may help me with:
  1. how to access the 4x4 info screen directly without the ignition cycle?
  2. my car doesn't support bluetooth audio; is there any upgrade or solution to that?
  3. what is the best tire make/model you use with stock 19" wheels for both city and off-road?
thank you all in advance.

A forum search will answer all of you questions.
But for item 2, I use this; https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B072MN7YST/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Wow, this looks like it couldn't be any simpler. I assume you use the USB port under the center console lid and you're in business?

@kj217 -- Search on "Kinivo BTC450" and you'll find the device I used in my 2011 LR4. I loved it. Even though it required a cable connection snaking back from the dash to the AUX port on the back of the center console, the button on the dash allowed for answering calls, navigating music, and activating Siri. I positioned mine just below and to the side of the ignition button and quickly got used to using the button by feel. I just looked on AMZ, and Kinivo seems to have added some upgrades to this line of products.

But the Kinivo is around $35-$40, and jaguardoc's solution is $9. I would definitely try his suggestion out first.

Correct, for the most part it is plug and play.
HOWEVER... I did have to pair them on my computer first (not sure why, but my phone wouldn't see it when I just plugged in into the LR4 first time). After the first pairing it connects every time. I do notice the connection will "timeout" if not using the BT audio through the dongle (listending to radio or such). just press the advance button the the LR4 and all is usually well again.

It works on both my Galaxy S8+ and my wife's Iphone 7+

Seems like a low-fuss workaround.

I will say that the Kinivo device I used had an especially aggressive pairing mode. Every time I wash my car, I use a portable Bluetooth speaker in my garage paired to my phone. Every time I would open a door on the LR4, it would activate the Kinivo and steal the connection from the BT speaker. It got to the point where I would just turn off BT on my iPhone and use a little cable to connect it to the BT speaker. But I actually saw that as a feature, not a bug of the Kinivo. Never required a second though to connect every time I jumped in for a ride. People also told me that audio quality of phone calls through that device was excellent.

I have the same truck. I use a bovee1000 for Bluetooth. Unfortunately, the radio nav is trash on our year truck.

On the tire question, I have Bridgestone Dueler H/L Alenza Plus. These is possibly the best tire I've ever had. The majority of my driving is highway/city however when I go off-road including specially designed off road courses like VIR, these have always provided plenty of grip. They're wonderful in rain and they're quiet with an exceptionally long lasting tread life. Good luck with your choices and welcome to Land Rover and the LR4.

I second the note about the tires he mentions. I have them on my LR4 and they are quiet.
On my LR3 I had the Good Year Duratrac... the tread pater especially the profile I thought it was better looking. They were also quiet.
