is there a better solution than replacing with OEM units that is bound to fail again?

My first bushings lasted about 67,000 miles. If I still have my LR4 in another 67,000 miles (about another 5 years and 3 months, at the rate I put miles on), that means enough has gone well that I won't mind having it done again.

I just replaced my upper and lower bushings with the poly ones that I got from Atlantic British.
The car was making a clunking noise when turning and had a vibration around 50-55mph. There was no oil leak but there was a little play in the lower rear of the arm.
It's a 2010 LR with 94k miles and judging by the scars on the arms, the bushings has already been replaced at least once. Hopefully these will last longer.
On the plus side, if these wear out, they'll be so much easier to replace. The old standard press-in bushing are a pain to take off.
Actually just got the car back from the allignment shop today. So far, it does feel a little firmer and you can feel road imperfections a little more. But handling is more positive and big bumps don't cause rattling.

Does anyone know if these are covered under the original warranty? I have seen them discussed as a wear item under the CPo but am wondering if they are covered when inside the factory warranty

I believe so. Others have posted here indicating that it was covered under the original factory warranty. For example:

well, i suspected them being bad, threw it up on the lift and couldn't see anything. couldn't move them, too heavy. but on driving there was a little wobble at high speed braking and there was a clunk from light braking while going down a steep hill and over concrete imperfections. then this showed up on the garage floor inside the drivers wheel about 6 inches. HMMM. 48k miles. so it is going into the dealer for that...

My local dealer wanted $1,500 or more to do it.

You'd save a lot of money sourcing the parts yourself, then taking it to a local mechanic who is willing to take the parts you bring in to do the work.

D'oh! Just realized you were the guy asking about the original factory warranty.

My dealer claimed it was a wear and tear item and they were not covered. YMMV.

I do off-road more than most and mine didn't last more than 30k miles or so.

I had a very odd experience doing this. I sourced parts from AtlanticBritish and my indy was happy to install the LCAs for me. They even gave me an exact list of parts to purchase which AB helpfully confirmed.

However, when the parts arrived at the shop, the techs were not able to make them fit to their satisfaction. I had them sent back to AB and they sent me a replacement set at no charge. Same issue with this set! This second set also went back and to their everlasting credit, AB gave me a full refund. I felt badly about this situation because LCAs are heavy! AB lost money on the double return shipping.

I know the obvious thought is that the shop wanted me to get parts through them, which I ultimately did. However, I just don't believe I was scammed. I trust this shop w/o question and continue to use them.

Bottom line it was an odd experience. My main takeaway from it was a very good feeling about doing business with AtlanticBritish because of the way they handled the returns. That earned a lot of loyalty from me.
